I bet you thought I would never update this page, but here it is. There are alot of cool things happening right now with Lonesome Goat. Fisrt, XM NATIONAL AIRPLAY. We are currently on their cross crountry music chart pushing top 20 status. I would personally like to thank Jessie Scott and Webb Wilder for supporting the album so ferverously. I cant tell you how cool it is to be rolling down the road and hear one of your songs come on the radio and to think that there are people all over the nation hearing the Goat music. If your into the Texas sound or the Americana sound, I highly reccommend picking up an XM reciever.
Derek Wakefield hung out with WILLIE NELSON a few weeks ago and sucessfully delivered "Sunburst Beauty" into Willies very own hands along with gettin his picture taken and an autographed guitar. Pretty damn cool if I do say so myself. So Willie, How about" The Goat" playin your picnic this year....huh.......maybe.......CALL US!!!!!!!!! WE WILL DO IT!!!!!!!!!CALL US!!!!!!!!
We would like to thank Dirty Sancho for having us at their CD release party. Its always good to get to play for thousands of people. Maybe not thousands, but thats what it seemed like. It was definitely elbows and asses. Thanks again.
We have just sent the CD out nationally and are patiently waiting for them to arrive at the stations via snail mail. I will keep you updated on the new airplay that we start getting all over the big ole USA.
We will be at the Goldenlight Cantina on Friday. I hope to see you all there. It is Kevin Brigances birthday, so his crew will be there, and as usaul, we hope to see Russ Brandt and friends. You guys rock. Thank ya'll for all the love and support.
Until next year..........just a joke!!!

We just had our CD release party. It was the most fun that we could have legally in the great state of Texas. Casey Berry opened the show and as always, played a steller performance. If you havn't been out to see him lately, you need to. He's got tremendous talent. We took the stage at about midnight and played straight on thru to 2:00 a.m. The crowd was awesome. Lots of friends we havn't seen in awhile and a whole lot of new faces, which is always cool. Earlier in the day, Drew and I drove over to Borger and did a radio interview with Tiffany Stout. She was really cool. She played Sunburst Beauty and Guadalupe, gave away a couple CD and passes to the show. Tiffany, if you are reading this, we really appreciate all that you did. My job at this point is to get a promopack together and send it out to the rest of the Texas radio stations and also start the task of booking outside Amarillo. By the way, the local stations, KMML,KATP, FM90,KGNC all have the new disc. Please call them and request the title track "Sunburst Beauty". That will be the first release. Thanks again to all the folks that supported us on Halloween. We'll see ya on the 14th.
P.S. Charlie Shafter and the Chronic Cowboys may be playing with us that night. See ya there.
August 20th, 2003 - First Entry
Well here we are three months into the "Lonesome Goat" experience. We played the happenin on the high plains on Saturday at the famous Golden Light Cantina. It was as much fun as a band could possibly have. The show started outside Saturday afternoon. Casey Berry played first. I wasn't there but I heard they did great. Charlie Shafter and the Chronic Cowboys played next followed by my favorite band Bo Saling and the brakes are all gone. I showed up about halfway through Bo's set. Those guys ROCK on the country tip. Excellent show. Cooder Graw took the stage at about 7:30 and jammed for about two hours. They are as tight as I've ever seen em. It's pretty obvious that they are a touring band. The experience shows. Not to mention that big ole bus ( I'll get into that later).
We went on right after Cooder Graw inside the Cantina. Auto was the 2nd sound guy for the outside show and the main sound guy inside so he had to teardown outside before he could even start inside. Needless to say we started inside on the fly at about 10:20 P.M. The first couple of songs were choppy as Auto was trying to get the PA set up. Lots of feedback. I could tell when he got it because the crowd instantly got into it. You cant get a better crowd than the Golden Light. We shot through the set playing mostly original new songs. We through in "stay all night", "sixteen by Jimmie Dale Gilmore, and "Mississippi mud" by HankIII.
It was truly a special night. As you looked around the crowd, you would see the other musicians hangin out drinkin beer. What a talented bunch of guys. Ryan Corpening, Joel from Charlie's Band, Matt Martindale, Bo Saling, Cliff Schraag, Dave Holt from Houston Marchmen's band. Bad Ass musicians. It was truly a pleasure to share the venue with all the bands there. The only band that wasn't from Amarillo, Texas was Houston Marchman. Amarillo has a great scene.
Houston Marchman closed the night. He started at about 11:45 and played on till last call. His guitar player is Dave Holt. He is an amazing musician. If you get a chance I highly recommend checking this band out. Great song writing, super tight band.
We are currently booking shows at the Golden Light and are waiting to get our mastered CD back from Masterpiece studio in Wimberly, TX. I should have a mastered copy by the 27th of this month and it will be sent off for duplication. Look for a CD release party at the Golden Light late September or October.
I would like to take this chance to thank Arcadio Rivera for the opportunity to play. Dennis Kuempel for being a great friend and and motivator. Dennis, thanks for the kind words. Joel from Charlie's band for letting Lerma use his drums. Ryan Corpening for letting me use his amp. It saved the day. (I got my amp all set up and blew a fuse)
There is a tremendous amount of energy behind the band right now. We are excited and I hope that you share that excitement with us. See at the next show.

Just got back from Wimberly, TX. I flew down to Austin on Sunday. My good friend Mark Polhemus picked me up at the airport and we drove to Wimberly. This is the location of Masterpiece Mastering Studios. I spent the day with Billy Stull as he mastered the new CD. It sounds absolutely great. I'm not biased though...really...I'm not.
Brandy and Steve White were good enough to put me up for the night and get me back to airport Monday morning at 6:00 a.m. (yuk). Thank you for your hospitality.
I've got photos of the happenin's at the studio and I will post them in the next few days....right on!
Hope everyone can make it to the Golden Light on Thursday. See you there.
